On May 16th, 2011 a life long goal was realized as Zach (my fiancé) & I signed away our lives & purchased our 1st home.

The experience, while daunting was one that unless you have been through it is a challenge to explain. The process instills every emotion imaginable- think frustration, exhaustion, defeat, indecisiveness, weakness to power, appreciation, adoration, excitement & finally head over heels LOVE.

After an insane 6 months of shopping the market we came to grips that others advice, while always welcomed- is just that- advice & in the end life, living & buying a home is all about the people who live under the roof.

AOL real-estate took note of our adventure…check out our story below.

So we are officially under contract on our new home (yes very exciting!!!!) & I personally have had an obsession with bookends for quite some time.

Yesterday I picked up this phenomenal pair from my local Neiman Marcus Last Call Store. To say I am excited is an understatment.

Our new home is uber modern, so I wanted my bookends to be extremely gaudy & aristocratic in design. Nonetheless, I believe I accomplished my goal and can't wait to get some of my favorites like, The Great Gatsby, The Glass Castle & Freakonomics between these two.

This is my first purchase for the new home & can't wait to share many more of my finds...
